I was one of the many that enjoyed driving fast down back roads. Had my parents had this device I’d have never had any fun. For some reason strange mishaps tend to happen around me. I stumble over invisible objects and usually if someone is casually tossing anything, it will definitely come in contact with my head when I’m not looking. Which means I’m also one of those people that collides with others as I round the corners of buildings. Thankfully, it actually appears that I’m not the only one. Especially since someone designed a gadget that is made to alert people of someone else’s presence before they collide. It does this by lighting up and beeping on the other side of the corner as you’re going around it. Then if you hear the beep you can slow down or somehow attempt to avert running into a complete stranger. Unfortunately, it’s a concept design. Plus, it’s unlikely that cities will spend the amount of cash it would take to get these installed on every single corner. I’m one of the many who’s a bit notorious for just letting too much water go down the drain. It’s not that I mean to, it’s just when I’m half awake in the morning, I’m not that worried about water consumption. If you’re not ready for a device that just shuts off the water when you’ve used too much, then this Waterpebble is a nice happy medium. Instead it goes for a subtle approach. It has 3 different shades of lights, one is green, then there is red and yellow. You can pretty much guess which colors mean what. The red means you need to get your tail out of the shower, the yellow means you should speed things up a bit and the green means you’re in the clear. It sits right next to your drain and just keeps track of how much water goes down it. Right now this is a concept design by Paul Priestman

Samsung wants to rock and roll with their own eBook reader as well which they have dubbed the E6 eReader (how convenient). It will still take some time to see just whether this market is big enough to support so many players, as eBook readers don’t seem to be making that much of an impact in the world against regular paperbacks compared to how the MP3 format literally brought the CD industry to its knees, with the iPod gaining a humongous market share that Apple doesn’t seem likely to be giving up its throne in that department anytime soon.

It’s not too difficult to pick up on that there seems to be a common color among amps that you find onstage. It’s not that manufacturers are incapable of creating a different color combination, it’s more that most bands prefer their sound equipment to blend in with the woodwork. Well for the bands that want something a little different for a change, Orange has a whole set of brightly colored sound equipment. I’m sure you can guess what color they all feature. In recent events they came out with the Thunder 30 , which is expected to be released sometime during the spring. The Thunder 30 features four EL84 class power valves that will kick out 30 watts. One new portion about this new gadget is that it has a twin channel setup. It also has an FX loop, standard clean channel and a dedicated overdrive/distortion channel with shape control. It appears to be a great choice for those that value both sound quality as well as looks. I have a few gadgets that I think should have a power switch on them, but unfortunately you have to unplug them to turn them off. I’m not exactly fond of crawling under my desk to switch something off, which is probably not something anyone enjoys. For those of you that don’t want to have to reach for a switch or don’t want to crawl under you desk to unplug gadgets, there is this extension cord that can be shut off with your foot. Sure, you could probably flip a switch with your foot, but this one has a wider switch making it far easier to switch off. Solar panels being used as back up chargers are nothing new. However, there are still a great deal of us that don’t have one. Be it due to lack of funds, not enough justification or even just not finding a design that fits your life. If you’re still just looking around to find that right fit for your gadget addiction, here are two more solar chargers from Ambientech. There is the SolarFold, as well as the SolarFan. Both of which would work just fine to keep all of your small gadgets up and running. Apparently these are the first of their kind, at least in one aspect. They are the first to use light-gathering spherical solar cells. Now whether or not that gives them enough of an edge above the competition to get you to hop up and purchase one is debatable. At the very least it’s nice to have a couple of different options on how these chargers open up. The SolarFan comes with a special tripod and both of them come with a carrying case. They became available last week and cost 22,050 yen or about $244.

The original ReviveLite would work fine for most people, but the down side of it is that it was pretty bulky. Not only did it keep an outlet covered, but it also had a dock off to the side of the outlet. With this 2nd edition ReviveLite it looks a whole lot more sleek and won’t be quite as much in the way. This new design makes a whole lot more sense than the old one did. Just like the old one it offers a night light to make wandering around in the dark much easier. The smaller version has one other nice change, it has been designed to include a USB port. That USB port can charge all sorts of other gadgets, all the while you can be powering up your iPod or iPhone on the dock. Plus, since it’s so small, it’d be a very portable device to have around. You can purchase it for $24.99 . Right now it’s available through Scosche, but throughout the spring it’ll start appearing at other retailers
