I’m one of the many who’s a bit notorious for just letting too much water go down the drain. It’s not that I mean to, it’s just when I’m half awake in the morning, I’m not that worried about water consumption. If you’re not ready for a device that just shuts off the water when you’ve used too much, then this Waterpebble is a nice happy medium. Instead it goes for a subtle approach. It has 3 different shades of lights, one is green, then there is red and yellow. You can pretty much guess which colors mean what. The red means you need to get your tail out of the shower, the yellow means you should speed things up a bit and the green means you’re in the clear. It sits right next to your drain and just keeps track of how much water goes down it. Right now this is a concept design by Paul Priestman

At long last, the folks over at Palm has decided to do something about their webOS by releasing a most timely update, this time round bringing the version number up to webOS 1.4. You won’t need to make a trip to any store if you want to install the update since this will come across as an over-the-air (OTA) update, and is readily available for customers who are subscribed to the Sprint network in the US, while folks living on the other side of the pond will be able to get it as well assuming they’re under the O2 UK, O2 DE, O2 Ireland and Movistar umbrellas

This next device is the best thing to come out of Russia since the those Daywatch and Nightwatch films. This contraption is able to take an ordinary car and turn it into a tank. Apparently, it uses a continuous tracked platform to create a better monster truck than the Legendary Bigfoot

Yes, we have covered the Wildcharger Pad and we have covered the Powermat , and I think it is about time for a Face/Off! It would appear that the Powermat is winning as far as basic space. The Wildcharger Pad is an 8 x 6 space capable of holding 2 mobile devices, but the company says that it can hold five. That most be with the Wildcharge PowerDiscs

The Grammys were one gadget-filled event. When Stephen Colbert gave the award for Song of the Year, he read the nominees off of his iPad. As if we didn’t see enough of that Apple iPad last week.

I love seeing DIY gadgets like these. Every time I see one, such as the Star Trek phaser , I can’t help but think: “how does one get the time to build these things?” I mean, I can barely keep up with my writing deadlines. Therefore, I will give my full congratulations to Bob Sawicki and Toby Weisser for using their weeknights and Sundays to build the snow chopper that you see in the photo.
