USB Turtle Drive

If you prefer your USB drives to be incredibly adorable, this turtle is the trick.  He’ll lovingly store all of your necessary files and look cute doing it.  What more could you ask for?  Sure, some might claim it’s not the most adult looking USB drive, but not everyone wants to be stuck with a plain looking drive.  Plus, if you have any kids they’d probably fall in love with the drive as well.  Then again, that might be a bad thing once they start stealing it and hiding it in with their toys. The drive itself is pretty basic, it’s made out of durable silicone casing to make sure that the turtle will last a little while.  After all turtles are supposed to be tough, hopefully it doesn’t have all of the turtle type of characteristics.  No one likes a slow USB drive.  On the drive it’ll hold a whole 4GB of all of your pictures and random word documents.  It doesn’t come at a bad price either.  You can pick it up for $20 through USB Geek

Western Digital My Passport Studio portable drives for Mac

Don’t think that Mac users are maligned all the time when it comes to hardware and software – that is not the case but merely an illusion.

The Lightsaber USB Drive

If you’re looking for something a little more awesome to store your small files on, thankfully Think Geek is always there to rescue you.  Instead of going after some gray USB drive, get something that’s modeled after one of the most famous fictional weapons.  Sure, it won’t be full sized and it won’t hurt anyone, much less kill them.  It will at the very least make sure to keep your data safe though. This tiny lightsaber will only hold 1GB of your documents, so you’ll have to be selective about what goes on the drive.  To use them you just plug them into the USB port like every other drive out there.  Once you do plug it in, the lightsaber will begin to glow.  This is another gadget that Think Geek has managed to get imported from Japan.  You can purchase it for $19.99 .

Machine Gun USB Drive

If having a USB drive resembling the bullet from a machine gun isn’t enough for you, perhaps this USB drive made to look like an actual machine gun would be better suited for you.  Don’t worry, it’s not quite as large as a machine gun, so it is somewhat portable.  Although I’d advise keeping it away from places like the airport, despite that it is small enough to fit into your pocket. Even though it appears pocket-sized, I’m not sure it’d be very comfortable within your pocket.  These Machine Gun USB Drives look like they have plenty of small pieces to poke you with and even break off within your pockets.  However, you could just leave this 4GB drive on your desk.  You can purchase the drive for $22 through USB Geek , which isn’t too bad of a price for a 4GB drive

Peanut Memory Stick Holder

Even hearing about a memory stick holder, most people would instantly write it off as ridiculous.  At first, I would have agreed.  However, there are several cases where it could make life a little more convenient.  A lot of USB drives have a way to hang onto them through their lid.  If you lose that lid though, you lose the ability to carry it on your keys.  This holder would allow for you to store your USB drive on your keychain and keep it safe. It’s just a small peanut shaped holder that conceals your drive within it.  Really, I think it’s better than a lot of the drives that comes with the keychain attached to either the drive itself or the lid.  Either option comes with complications.  This way you can solve both issues by storing it in a neoprene case (that’s the stuff they make wetsuits out of).  You can purchase one of these cases for $6.99 through Pop Deluxe . USB Drive that doubles as ruler

At first this ruler flash drive seemed more ridiculous than useful.  However, after looking it over, it’s actually not such a bad idea.  After all, school aged kids do need rulers every so often for their school work.  This would mean they’d have both their school papers saved and handy as well as the ruler always around.  Plus the drive could also function as a bookmark and hold their place in any school books. This isn’t something I could see the average adult really fully utilizing, but students could quite easily benefit from the design.  It doesn’t hold a whole lot, just 2GB of data.  That would be enough though for the average younger student that merely has a few papers that they need to store on the drive.  It’s not going to cost you a horrific amount either, so if they lose it, it’s not the end of the world.  To pick one up it’ll cost you $29.99 from Audio Cubes .
