In case you don’t want to live in this Gyre Floating city , you might want to live in this building here, which has been known as “waterscraper” or “seascraper”. I believe that the formal name is the hO2+ scraper. It is an attempt at making a skyscraper underwater, but I think we can emphasize the word “scrape”

I’m one of the many who’s a bit notorious for just letting too much water go down the drain. It’s not that I mean to, it’s just when I’m half awake in the morning, I’m not that worried about water consumption. If you’re not ready for a device that just shuts off the water when you’ve used too much, then this Waterpebble is a nice happy medium. Instead it goes for a subtle approach. It has 3 different shades of lights, one is green, then there is red and yellow. You can pretty much guess which colors mean what. The red means you need to get your tail out of the shower, the yellow means you should speed things up a bit and the green means you’re in the clear. It sits right next to your drain and just keeps track of how much water goes down it. Right now this is a concept design by Paul Priestman

Sometimes it’s just tough remembering to be careful about all of your energy consumption. There are those that are naturally great at it, but unfortunately we’re just not all that way. Well if you’d like to force yourself to change your ways, then this is one way to do it. If nothing else you’ll start to think about it when you turn on your lights. Either that or you’ll learn to move your fingers out of the way really quick.

I’m always all about any gadget that can function well, while being powered by nothing more than the sun. It cuts down on batteries and it’s basically the lazy man’s way of being eco-friendly. In that you really don’t have to put in a whole lot of effort and you’re managing to at least help to not make the earth any worse than its current state. That being said, I’m not entirely sold on this solar gadget. Since it is an alarm, it almost seems like it’s advertising its presence to burglars. Sure, it’ll go off anytime someone opens the window at all. However, I’m curious if someone were to break a windowpane next to the solar panel and were to just shut it off or tear it off, if it would do any good. Then again many people looking at it from the outside would probably think it’s just a harmless solar gadget probably charging your cellphone. Which if that’s the case, it could still work. These window alarms come in twin packs for £24.99 or about $38

There are few better ways to spend an afternoon than building your own miniature racer and then getting to test it out. It’s even better since this little car runs on the power of the sun, which means you won’t have to worry about switching out batteries constantly. It’d be a great project to do with kids or just for yourself. Just make sure that the kids are age 8 or over. The car comes in a total of 8 different pieces and comes with a handy instruction manual. It doesn’t mention if you’ll need any fancy tools to put it all together. Since it does come in so few parts though, hopefully it will be pretty basic to piece together. Usually they say so if you’re going to need anything out of the ordinary, besides things like screw drivers. You can purchase it for £7.45 or about $11 through the Ethical Superstore . Apparently these oddly shaped speakers are Japan’s very first set of active speakers that are solar-powered. These look more like a cryptic scroll than a set of speakers, but they are speakers. They’re also speakers that will help you become just a little more eco-friendly. After all, every little bit helps. These flat speakers are shaped just right to give you the sound you need and suck up all the sun they’ll require to keep up and running. Once the Lithium-ion battery has managed to get a full charge, the speakers will run for a full 8 hours continuously. The 19.5cm by 11.2cm by 5cm speaker can be connected to your iPod or MP3 player through the stereo mini input. It weighs 290 grams and will be released in Japan sometime this coming March. At that time it’ll be priced at 5,250 Yen or right around $58. Source: TechFresh Tech Cult – We cover the latest tech news, but always with a funny twist.

In all honesty, if you were going to show me this shower, I would probably still report on it based on its looks alone. I don’t even care if it worked, just look at it! It’s just some sort of curvy tower that is just plain sexy.

Everybody wants affordable energy without any hazardous emissions, and there have always been some company working on things like cold fusion or other things that seem like pipe dreams. Pipe dreams until someone actually perfects it. I’m not certain how close Bloom Energy is to creating that awesome energy, but their Bloom Box certainly comes close.
