Back in the early nineties, we all thought that the video games of 2010 would be with goggles and a toy gun. We were wrong with Virtual Boy, and we never figured out a way to get a player to run in a game while standing still in the gaming area. Better late than never, VirtuSphere is here to bring our virutal reality dreams to life.

Normally I don’t report on anything that STIHL does, as I’m not big on leaf blowers. However, the ad department came up with a very interesting ad campaign: a calendar that peels itself off. You can watch a video of it after the jump, and it works by simply ripping out the book binding thread that mounts the pages together.

Curious Displays from Julia Tsao on Vimeo . Okay, I usually like to have a still shot of what I’m reporting, but could only find this video. However, a picture wouldn’t say a thousand words on this, and this video speaks volumes.

I just got finished reporting about a pinball machine that you can control with your mind at CeBIT , and that, in my opinion, is a good use for brain-interface technology. Now, you are about to see a bad one

I thought I’d give you readers at Coolest Gadgets a Friday treat with the CubeStormer. The CubeStormer was designed by British engineer Mike Dobson, and it is made up of parts from several Lego Mindstorms sets connected to a computer. As a kid you always dream of those ultimate spy toys that allow for you to torture your siblings. As an adult you might still want them, but it’s doubtful that you’ll feel reassured living with a kid that owns one of those serious spy gadgets. This TRAKR would be a whole lot of fun, just as long as you’re the one controlling it. It’d be pure misery for anyone around you that doesn’t possess something like this. The Wild Planet Spy Video TRAKR can drive into different rooms and allow for you to see and hear what’s going on in that room. Then to top it off, there’s a built-in speaker on the car and a microphone on the remote control. Allowing for you to announce yourself from afar to avoid any pummeling that might follow. Once this comes out in October of this year it’ll cost you $120 .
